Enjoying Life with YOU is all I ask for...
Cell Group Yesterday...

Yesterday HCG 02 did not have official Cell Group. Which means we had an informal meeting last night. As the attendance were low, thus we decided to use that time to visit Carmen's grandma funeral. I presume Carmen was glad to see us there because she sent us a Thank You msg for attending. It was a Christian service. I should say that it is the first Christian Funeral that I have attended. Though it was preached in chinese, but I should get to understand 90% of it la. haha.

We started the service with a couple of chinese hymns, as what Jordan said, it should be a tradional church service. haha. Probably because the songs that we sang are really very traditional. Of cos I dun expect funky songs la, because it is a funeral service. Anyway, none of us sang along as we cant catch and cant read the chinese wordings. haha. Then after each song, the pastor would share some thoughts. Then after 3 songs, there was 5 mins pause, this is the time where close friends, relatives or family members, can come forward and share their feelings towards the deceased. The last one to came up was the grandson ( Carmen's brother ). The first word he spoke, he already broke down in tears. He said, the night before his grandma fall in the toilet, he just hugged and said goodnight to her. ANd his grandma also told him that there are food in the fridge. It can be heated up for breakfast. And then he ended saying he miss and love his grandma very very very much. Tears also welled up my eyes when I saw that scene. Personally I do not know Carmem's grandma at all. But I can understand the feeling of losing a grandparent. I went thru that b4. . .

After that pause, the pastor started sharing a short sermon on Life Journey. His definition of Life Journey, is from the day that we are born till we enter gates of eternity. Then he started saying the peace from God has nothing to do with worldly happiness, or fortune. After so much of talking, I can only remember one thing, the peace of God is the best gift that one can receive. The comfort from God goes beyond what we can receive of find from the world. Just like the loss of a love one, what on earth can we buy to replace the loss. But only God can give you peace to counteract the loss...

Everytime after visiting a funeral, I always tell myself to treasure and cherish the people around us. Don't regret only when they are gone. This time, is no any different from the last visitation.

Cherishing,
Freda
